Quickly And Easily Update Your Home For Fall With A Few Key Pieces

Decorating for all of the seasons and holidays can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially for those of us who lack storage space or prefer a less cluttered home. There are a ton of super simple, easy ways to update your home for the season without going overboard.

I’ve compiled some of my favorite tried and true ways I shift my home from summer to fall (even if it’s still 90+ degrees in Dallas).

Candles

Just the smell alone can change the feel of a place. A small flame (real or fake) adds some warmth to the space as well. I’m super particular about the scent of my home. I will never light a candle with a baked good in the name. Here are a few that not only smell good, but look good too.

Throw Blankets & Pillows

I’ll admit it, I have a throw blanket addiction. If you’re lacking storage space you can hang blankets on ladder or roll them up into a woven basket. It’s a two for one – a warm blanket and decor. I also used to have a pillow problem, but now instead of buying a whole new pillow, I get pillow covers instead. They’re easy to swap, washable, and take up minimal storage space.

Tea Towels

There are so many options out there and its something you’re using anyway. Find a color, texture, pattern, or even image that matches your kitchen and decor to throw into your rotation for fall.

Dried Florals

Dried florals are great because they can last forever if cared for. However, they can also be fairly inexpensive if you just want to keep them around for the season. I’m still enjoying the floral arrangements from our wedding made by The Floral Eclectic.

Wreaths

Because wreathes hang on your front door, they take up nearly no space. They also tend to be fairly inexpensive or you can make your own. You can choose to reuse every year or toss, and some can even transition through multiple seasons.

For me, autumn starts September first and spooky season soon after. Regardless of when you start to get in the spirit, I hope this inspired you! Let me know in the comments below how you like to shift your home for fall. 🙂
