Dallas is one of the most dog friendly cities I know. Whether you live in Dallas, are visiting the area, or thinking about moving here… these are some of my favorite places to go (with or without a dog of my own).
Mutts Canine Cantina located at 2889 CityPlace West Blvd in West Village (locations in Fort Worth and Austin as well). They have separate dog parks for small and large breeds, a dog wash station for muddy days, food and beverage for you and your pooch, wifi, and memberships available!
White Rock Lake Dog Park located at 8000 Mockingbird Lane in Dallas has acres of land for dogs of all sizes to play. It’s a great places if your dog likes to splash or swim (there’s a dog wash station, don’t worry). With this being Dallas’ largest lake, there are plenty of other recreational activities to do here as well.
Katy Trail Ice House located at 3127 Routh Street in Uptown or walk the Katy Trail (entrance between Fairmount and Cedar Springs) is a Dallas staple! I’ve been going to KTIH since before I lived here. There’s a large, mostly shaded outdoor area lined with picnic tables for you, your friends, and furry family to relax, eat delicious food, and enjoy a few beverages. Try their summer beer and hangover burger or share some brisket nachos.
Interested in rescuing a dog? Dallas has some great programs worth looking into. Dallas Dog RRR, Dallas Pets Alive, SPCA, Dog and Kitty City, Operation Kindness, Dallas Animal Services, Cane Rosso, and Cody’s Friends Rescue. (If you know of any others PLEASE let me know so I can add them to this list!)
